Oil Flow Calibration Facility

Extension of our UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation schedule was recently achieved for the oil flow meter calibration facility. The calibration facility can now undertake accredited flow calibrations from 0.6 litre/min upto 280 litre/min on oil.

Other inhouse facilities are available to cover fluids such as Shellsol, ISO 4113, Skydrol, AVGas, Jet A1, IPA, engine oils and hydraulic oils. Between the seven test rigs, flow ranges from 1 cc/min up to 1100 litres/min can be  covered.

We have a turbine meter, when supplied, the distributor gave us a meter calibration factor for use on water. Our problem is that we use on a fully synthetic oil at 64 Deg C and it reads differnt to our other meters. Is this due to the calibration on a differnt fluid?

Can you use your oil flow calibration test facility for dynamic relief valve testing. We need to know lock down pressure, pressure at relief, flow at relief and flow at max over pressure. Our maximum flow is 40 gal/hr and max pressure 12 bar.

OilManitor. Yes you need to calibrate turbine flow meters on their operating fluid. These meters are very sensitive to fluid viscosity.

Do have facility for oil metre calibration on Aeroshell fluid?

Aeroshell have many variants can you calibrate differnt variants and at different temperatures?

Oil and gas calibration facility in the Netherlands. I think this is the countrys’ national laboratory.

If calibrating a Nixon turbine flowmeter, which we want to use on a hydraulic flow testing rig, is it best to match the viscosity, temperature or density of the fluid when sending for calibration. We have purchased the meter but was only supplied with a calibration certificate on water.

Flowdine, it is best to use the exact fluid at the working operating conditions. Email me your details for flow range, fluid, temperature, etc and I will provide a quotation. When matching a turbine to set conditions, you might as well use the correct oil. If this is not feasible then match the operating viscosity.
