    Dear Sir,

I would like to know how medical ventilators are calibrated. What setup used for calibration. How much you are charging for that? What std you are following?
    Pls send these details.

Can you repair and service the Timeter RT200 ventilator testers. We have several of these in need of repair, and would like to bring them back into service, as our Field Service Technicians prefer these to the newer Respical model. The RT 200 has an error on the low pressure modes, which doesn’t allow you to zero or use the channel. Any info would be very helpful.

Malorkodi. Medical Ventilators are tested and calibrated for several different parameters, depending upon the model purchased. They would generally cover low flow, high flow, low pressure, high pressure, tidal volume, gas concentration and temperature. Some also cover humidity and atmospheric pressure. To calibrate you will need a very accurate system for all these parameters. Our ventilator testers are returned to the manufacturer and calibrated on primary and secondary reference standards, to the manufacturers own procedures. As there is no international standard, we find it best to use the original manufacturer.

We also send our Ventilator Testers back to the manufacturer for calibration, although this is a real pain, as the tester will be away for over 2 weeks. I wasn’t aware of this company prior to the blog, and will contact them to discuss the level of calibration they can undertake.

Anyone have the calibration commands available for use on Respical ventilator testers when using the factory connector. Was told by a Allied rep that the calibration can be adjusted with simple script commands via the rear port connector.

We have many old ventilator calibrators available for purchase, some are for spares or repairs and would be ideal for a calibration service company.

Has anyone any experience of the Rigel 355 Ventilator Tester, in terms of reliability, drift and calibration. Also can this unit be adjusted if outside calibration specification, by internal EBME staff.

Never had pleasure of abusing the Rigel 355, but the Fluke VT Mobile unit is a great little performer. Nice and small and after 8 months I’ve not had any issues. The calibration lab technicians ran a check afte 6 months and everything was still within the manufcaturers specification.

Gents, just to give some feedback on our IMT Medical PF-300 Ventilator Analyzer. Easy to setup, compact, lightweight, great range of functions and just returned from a calibration, with minimal drift, actually less than 1/4 of the manufacturers specification. Can highly reccomend this flow analyzer.
